CDN Trust is looking for two or three people to fill multiple youth work roles. These roles are based in the Riccarton community and may be separate or combined to form a full time role.

1. Kids Camp Director – permanent full-time (32 hours per week)

2. 24-7 Youth Workers – 2x part-time roles (each 10 hours per week during school terms)

Kids Camp Director Role:

We are looking for a permanent full-time (32 hours per week) youth worker to join our amazing, fun team! For this role you need to have experience in running youth programmes, be passionate about working with young people in your community, and enjoy camps and connecting young people with local youth groups and churches.

The primary aspects of this role involve coordinating and running 5-day Kids Holiday Camps and recruiting, supporting and training volunteers. Additional elements will include developing collaborative relationships with various organisations and community workers and assisting in the running of other events and programmes.

It is vital that you are a self-starter, able to be self-motivated, able to problem solve, self-organised and able to manage programme budgets and records.

This role is based in our Riccarton office and most aspects of this role are focussed on young people in the wider Riccarton area. Our camps, however, are for young people from across Christchurch and surrounding areas.

In addition to being a great youth worker and volunteer leader, we are looking for someone who aligns with our values as an organisation and is a good role model. Many parts of this role involve close work alongside Riccarton Community Church (RCC) and their youth programmes. Being an active part of the RCC church family or being willing to become involved there would be advantageous.

If this sounds like you we want to hear from you!

CDN Trust is a Christian-based charitable organisation in Christchurch. We connect with young people 10-18 years old from a wide variety of backgrounds and circumstances. Our motto is Adding Life to Life. We are about giving young people great experiences alongside great role models and offering good connections to local youth groups, churches and organisations. Through these events and connections we help young people achieve their potential.

Remuneration will be a salary based on relevant experience. We also cover expenses such as cell phone and mileage. As this role involves a number of camps and events, the actual hours you will work fluctuate throughout the year with up to 60-70 hours on some camps. This is evened out by taking time off after a camp and working shorter hours many weeks. We operate a time-bank system to help with this.

This role could be combined with one of our 24-7 youth work roles at a local school to form a 40-hour per week position for the right applicant.

To apply, send your CV and cover letter to James Harris – CDN Trust Manager – 027-600-3800 – 44 Elizabeth St, Riccarton 8041
